Pulling together this bathroom gave me so much joy! I wanted it to be a bit reminiscent of the home I grew up in—the black and white tile floor, the Vermeer painting, pops of gold, Romanian needle work. My mom has always had a great eye for style, but what I find most alluring about her taste is that she sticks to what she loves–not necessarily what is trending. I think that’s so important–it’s how it should be! I encourage you to do what you love, don’t let other’s decide for you! You’re living there, after all! My mom and I both find it meaningful to incorporate items in our home that tell a story, that remind us of something, and that are more than just an object. I didn’t go out and purchase items for this bathroom, I pulled items already in my home and in my collection that I wanted to showcase in this room. It makes it more special to me! See below for a few details and some good clean fun with my little Ian babe. x

This beautiful hand-embroidered floral design is something I picked up ten years ago in Romania at a street market. It’s always been a favorite of mine and reminds me of all the great memories I’ve made there.

Hard to see here, but in the far back is a index card with my dad’s handwriting–it’s from his college days and filled with equations and chemistry jargon. Maybe not everyone’s cup of tea–but I love it!

My parents have a large Vermeer painting in an extravagant frame hung in their house. Before that it was in my grandparents house and someday, I’ll have it too. Until then, I have this little unframed one.

Be a flower among the thorns. This is just a greeting card that I slid into a frame. I’ve done that more often–it’s a great way to keep + display notes from friends.

This tray has all my colors–oranges, reds, pinks, and black. Oh and that hand towel? Meijer sale rack, my only regret is that I didn’t buy more.

I could go on and on telling you where I found each item or why it’s special to me, but I’ll stop! The faucets and hardware are from Brizo. We have almost all brizo items in our home and are so happy with them. It’s a great company!

Brizo fixtures again. Also–more on this shower swag soon!

Hooks from Anthropologie. One of my biggest pet peeves is wet towels on the floor…so there are 9 hooks–no excuses!
